The position conducts data analyses to improve court operations and programs. This position provides staff support to multiple judicial committees. The individual will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and juggling multiple projects, able to think big and be creative (while paying careful attention to detail) and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. This position is involved in identifying and developing new funding proposals and funding methodologies. It assists with the development of budget policies related to the allocation and management of resources. Further, this position evaluates proposed legislation and develops legislative budget requests. The position works under the limited supervision of the Senior Court Operations Consultant and the Operations Manager of the Resource Planning Subunit.

Education and Training Guidelines

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, research methodology, mathematics, or a closely related field.

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Four years of related experience, including experience in applied statistical research or statistical analysis.

Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.

Competencies

Knowledge Requirements: The Florida State Courts System organization, operations, and jurisdiction; Interpreting and researching Florida Statutes; Interpreting and researching Florida Rules of Court; Court Administration programs and principles; Quality management principles; Methods and principles of accounting; Knowledge of relational databases, associated programming languages, and information technology; and research, design, and data collection methods.

Skills and Abilities Requirements: Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; Organize and manage multiple assignments or projects, coordinate meetings, and analyze business process; Data collection, statistical analysis, modeling, and presentation; Proficient personal computer skills (Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, SAS, R); Apply consistent functional data driven solutions to a variety of diverse problems.

Special Comments

There are two positions to be filled.

Knowledge of Florida’s court system preferred.

Knowledge of developing legislative budget requests and allocating resources using funding formulas preferred.

Experience providing staff support to commissions, committees, or workgroups.
